How to start a new chat with an existing or new contact

Sometimes you are the one who wants to initiate a chat. This is easy if the person you'd like to contact is already in your company's contact list.

In the search area at the top of the messaging screen, just search for their name, email or phone number and it will automatically appear, if it's there.  Click on the name to initiate a chat and they will be notified in their inbox.

What if they're not in your contact list?

You can easily initiate a chat with someone outside of your contact list, providing you have first enabled a channel that supports outbound chats, such as WhatsApp, SMS or email.

To start a chat, just click the plus (+) icon at the top of the screen and a pop-up will appear. This will allow you to enter the person's contact details, choose one of the available touchpoints and type your message. 

Note: To see the + function you must enable a channel that supports outbound chats, such as WhatsApp, SMS or email.
